Molecular Extracts

“Broccoli extracts—the next big thing!”

Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable that belongs to the cabbage family and contains several isothiocyanate molecules that may reduce the risk of cancer in humans. On their website, the American Cancer Society states that, due to their possible anti-cancer properties, cruciferous vegetables should be included in our daily diet.

Glucoraphanin is standardized in our broccoli extract and is the metabolic precursor of sulforaphane, the molecule responsible for the anti-cancer properties found in studies. Glucoraphanin is converted to sulforaphane by gut microflora. For our extract, we chose to standardize glucoraphanin, which is more stable and less volatile than sulforaphane.

Studies have been conducted on the high antioxidant properties of sulforaphane in the following areas:

  • The ability to fight certain cancer cell lines
  • The ability to stimulate our detoxification system
